A surrogate mum who thought she was pregnant with twin boys was stunned when she gave birth to her OWN child as well as the couple’s son.
Jessica Allen was a surrogate for a Chinese couple and gave birth to the boys in December 2016.
Jessica who did not see the babies when they were born was stunned when she was sent a photo from their mum a month later.
She immediately spotted the boys were not identical twins and one was much lighter than the other.
DNA tests were carried out and it was confirmed that one of the boys was Jessica’s biological son.
The 31-year-old said: “We were floored".
Medics told the stunned new mum that after she became pregnant with the couple’s child, she ovulated again and conceived another baby with her own husband, Wardell Jasper.
Most women stop producing eggs when they are pregnant, so double pregnancies – knowns as superfetation – are extremely rare.
Jessica and her husband who are from California, now have custody of their son, who is now 10 months old although they faced difficulties with the surrogacy agency before the child was given back to them.
