Davido's 'Skelewu' and MC Galaxy's 'Sekem' gets featured as part of Official Soundtracks for Disney's 'Queen of Katwe' Movie

Nigerian music seems to be hitting the international stage regularly with advancement in time as MC Galaxy's hit single 'Sekem' and Davido's 'Skelewu' were featured among the official soundtracks for the Disney movie, 'Queen of Katwe'.

HKN's star, Davido couldn't help but gush over the news that his song had been featured in the Walt Disney movie.

He said;

"Never thought I'd hear 'Skelewu' in a Disney movie. Amazing. #QueenofKatwe @iamshizzi !! CRAZY SHIT God bless you!!".

Queen of Katwe features Academy Award winner, Lupita Nyong'o and Golden Globe Nominee, David Oyelowo as well as new-comer, Madina Natwanga who plays the major character of Phiona Mutesi.

The movie depicts the life of Ugandan chess prodigy, Phiona Mutesi from Katwe who turns into a ‘Woman Candidate Master’ after her superb performance at the ‘World Chess Olympiads’.

Another African song featured in the movie is Ugandan artist Eddy Kenzo's single, ‘Mbilo Mbilo’.

It is without a doubt that African music is gaining serious ground in the world scene.
