Drinking can be fun especially when you are out with the gang but the after-effects of drinking too much alcohol can be quite telling on the body.

The after-effects of drinking too much alcohol is called a 'Hangover' and is usually experienced in the morning after a heavy drinking night.

Hangover is usually characterized by nausea, irritability, fatigue, vomiting, migraine, bad breath, dehydration, body pain, anxiety, stomach ache, accelerated heartbeats and a host of other nasty effects.

There are ways to get rid of that annoying hangover. Check out these seven ways to get rid of a hangover.

  1. Water

Drinking lots of water the next morning is a good way to get rid of a nasty hangover. Alcohol dehydrates the body so when you consume a lot of water, it helps to hydrate the body and remove all the alcohol impurities left in your system. Drinking about 2-5glasses of water could do the trick.

 

  1. Honey

This is another good way to get rid of a hangover. Honey is rich in minerals such as potassium which helps to neutralize the side effects of too much alcohol. Take about 3-4 teaspoons of honey per hour until the hangover disappears.

 

  1. Lemon

Lemon also helps to get rid of a hangover. It does this by controlling the blood sugar level which in turn rebalances the body. About 2 teaspoons of fresh lemon juice will do the trick.

 

  1. Banana

Banana contains potassium which is vital against hangover. Excess alcohol drains the potassium present in the body so in order to replenish this potassium, banana is taken into consideration. Eating one or two bananas along with your breakfast will do the trick.

 

  1. Ginger

Ginger provides fast relieve from a a hangover by soothing the stomach and aiding the digestion of alcohol. Chewing small pieces of ginger or drinking ginger tea will do the trick.

 

  1. Sleep

Sleeping for a little while longer will help to get rid of a hangover too. After excessive drinking, the ideal thing is for you to sleep properly which in turns helps the body to recover.

 

  1. Cold Shower

Having a cold shower is also a good way to get rid of a hangover. After having too much to drink with the guys last night, a cold shower the next day will do the trick and get rid of that painful hangover symptoms.

 

The next time you go out hanging with the guys and have too much to drink and you wake up with a nasty hangover, be sure to try any of these methods to get yourself feeling better and ready for the day's activities.
