Smoking is known for its dangerous side effects to the human body. There is a popular saying that goes 'Smokers are liable to die young' and at such; it is advisable to desist from smoking.

Continuous smoking damages different parts of the body over time before eventually leading to death.

Most smokers are not aware of the dangers which smoking exposes their body to and discover this when it is already too late.

There are various body parts that get damaged as a result of smoking. Check out these five body parts;

  1. The Sex Organ

This is common in male smokers. Male smokers have a higher risk of suffering erectile dysfunction which affects their fertility. Smoking also increases their chances of developing 'Testicular Cancer'. For female, smoking exposes them to the risk of developing 'Cervical Cancer'.


  1. The Joints

Smoking also affects the joints and bones. Smokers have a higher risk of developing arthritis over time and also inflammation in various joints.


  1. The Gum

This is one of the most easily affected body parts; smokers are very prone to developing gum diseases which causes pain in the gum, tooth loss as well as bad breath.


  1. The Eyes

The eye is another body part that smoking damages over time. Smokers get blurred vision as time goes on; the central vision damages and eventually goes completely bad.


  1. The Skin

Smoking also has a damaging effect on the skin. It damages the skin by speeding up the aging process. It could also result in skin cancer.
