Donald Trump officially elected as United States President following Electoral College Vote

Donald Trump may have been announced as the winner of the November 8th Presidential Election in the United States but the Republican candidate needed to pass one more voting process which was the Electoral College to be officially announced as the next president of America and he duly delivered as a 538-member Electoral College sealed his victory.

An excited Donald Trump expressed his delight at winning the Electoral College votes, adding that his presidential position was now official.

He said;

"We did it! Thank you to all of my great supporters, we just officially won the election (despite all of the distorted and inaccurate media)".

"Today marks a historic electoral landslide victory in our nation’s democracy. I thank the American people for their overwhelming vote to elect me as their next President of the United States. This election represents a movement that millions of hard working men and women all across the country stood behind and made possible. With this historic step we can look forward to the bright future ahead. I will work hard to unite our country and be the President of all Americans".

Vice President-elect, ‘Mike Pence’ was quick to congratulate the US President-elect, he said;

"Congratulations to Donald Trump; officially elected President of the U.S. today by the Electoral College!"

Unconfirmed reports reveal that Trump won 304 electoral votes compared to the 224 electoral votes won by Hilary Clinton with the other votes going to other candidates.

The results of the Electoral College vote will officially be announced on Friday, January 6th, 2017 at the 'Special Joint Session of Congress'.
