'The Corpses were recovered at Kamadugou River Line area'- Nigerian Army recover corpses of missing soldiers

The Nigerian Army has revealed that it has recovered the corpses of fifteen (15) missing soldiers around the Kamadugou River Line area.

According to the army, the soldiers were said to be carrying out an operation to dislodge the Boko Harams from the ‘Gashigar Area’ in Borno state when they went missing.

Theatre commander of the 'Operation Lafiya Dole', Major-General Lucky Irabor revealed this at the Weekly Review of 'Operation Rescue Final' in Maiduguri yesterday, adding that the soldiers had been properly buried.

He said;

"The corpses were recovered at Kamadugou River line area in Maiduguri. Among the recovered corpses was that of Lieutenant-Colonel K. Yusuf, the former Commanding Officer of 223 Tank Battalion".

"They had since been buried in Maimalari Cantonment Cemetery with full military honors".

Major-General, Lucky Irabor also revealed that no less than 963 suspected Boko Haram members had been arrested between Wednesday, 4th January 2017 and Monday, 9th January 2017.
