Breaking News: National Assembly shut down in anticipation of president Buhari's presentation of 2017 budget

Access into the National Assembly was almost an impossible tasks as all the three entry gates have been shut by security operatives.

It was reported that the closure was in preparation towards the anticipated visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the National Assembly today to present estimations on the 2017 budget to senators and members of the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari is still in the Gambia and the presentation which was scheduled for 10am today has been moved to 2PM.

Although, it is still unclear why the budget hearing presentation was moved but it seems to be connected to the errand Buhari had to run in Gambia where he travelled to on Tuesday, December 12 to convince President Yahyah Jammeh to leave power at the expiration of his present tenure.

Members of staff were however, declined from entering the vicinity including all other organisations rendering services within the complex have been shut out.

Long queues of vehicles and crowds of anxious people are noticed along the entry points.

Recall that President Mohammadu Buhari had stated that the 2017 budget will bring Nigeria out of its present economic downturn.
