Malaga manager defends decision to sign Nigerian striker, Isaac Success

Success Isaac has been defended by his manager, Jose Lopez following criticism of his fitness to play.

The Malaga manager, Jose Lopez has defended the newly recruited Nigerian striker, Isaac Success.

Success came under heavy criticism following his loan move to Spanish side Malaga from Premier League outfit, Watford.

The 22-year-old featured for just 15 minutes in the relegation battle defeat to Las Palmas, and was excluded from the following match against second placed Atletico Madrid, hence, the criticism that he is not fit to play.

However, the Malaga manager, Lopez has negated claims that the forward is not fit and overweight.

The Sun reports that Lopez claimed that he endorsed the signing of Success, saying:

“I am the main endorsement of Isaac to come here and I think that, for this game (Atletico), the minutes he will play in, he may not be the necessary player.”

We sincerely hope Success and his compatriot, Brown Ideye who also joined Malaga, can save them from relegation.

Malaga will take on Valencia on Saturday, February 17 in their next La Liga fixture.
