Serena Williams is expecting her first baby together with fiancé, Alexis Ohanian say new reports.
A spokesperson for Serena Williams has confirmed that she and her fiancé, Alexis Ohanian are expecting their first child. "I'm happy to confirm Serena is expecting a baby this fall," Williams' spokesperson told CNN in a statement.
The news broke on Wednesday after Williams shared a side profile shot of herself in a yellow swimsuit with a caption that read "20 weeks" in a Snapchat posting that quickly disappeared but not before a screen shot of it was taken and circulated around the Web.
The news of her pregnancy means Selena was already pregnant when she won the Australian Open in January which further adds to her reputation as one of the greatest athletes of all time.
After the pregnancy post disappeared, there were speculations as to whether Williams was just teasing fans even as good wishes began flowing in from fellow celebrities and US Open Tennis.
Serena has clearly taken some secret keeping lessons from her BFF Beyonce. In February, the superstar singer posted a photo with her baby bump on her social media page to announce the news of her twins.
Fans were surprised to learn in December that Williams was engaged to.
The world renowned athlete announced her engagement to Ohanian, Reddit's co-founder, since they had kept their romance out of the spotlight and Ohanian doubled down on his Facebook page, linking to her Reddit post and adding, "She said yes."
The tennis superstar will not play again in 2017 but will return to the tour in 2018, her spokeswoman said.
Williams, who will return to the No 1 ranking in the world next week, will be 36 in September and has achieved every milestone possible during an illustrious career.
